Default 2004 Pacifica AWD hatch lock

Rear hatch unlocks/opens once then loses power. Disconnected and reconnected battery and hatch only unlocks and opens once. cannot hear lock function at all after that. does not lock or unlock with door control or key fob until we disconnect and reconnect battery again. All other locks function normally. This is NOT a power lift hatch...
Any ideas??

Default battery dead now

today the back hatch lock popped open part way some time during the night but won't release completely to open. It happened once before and drained the battery. Will not unlock by door or key fob. Had to force it to catch to shut it the rest of the way . Battery is dead again. No interior lights at all.

What is the photo someone posted a picture of? The lock motor?

How do I reset (rehome) the lock? Would like to try that first if possible...

Thanks.

What does a moderator have anything to do with some one answering a question that you have posted ??

More then likely replace the motor or latch assembly depends on how its sold
