Default 2005 AWD 3.5L...tranny issues

Have a 2005 AWD Pacifica that is giving transmission problems. There is no reverse, but when you shift to reverse and rev the engine a little you can feel the vehicle rock as if it wants to move. Second issue, when put in drive, vehicle takes off fine but when it shifts to second it just revs. Will not down shift back to first. Turn off the key, restart and it will start back in first...has the auto stick shifter, I can drive this vehicle all day long in first gear. Any suggestions? There are currently no fault codes but my scanner did show a pending fault of p0700, a generic transmission code I believe.

You don't say anything about your maint upkeep past. Find the very best trans shop and have them do a really good scan even if you have to pay. Took us over a year to find our problem. Trans was out twice and the shop said it wasn't the trans but in the car. He was right after all and wasn't the batt cable or grounds or the alt. A really good scaner and pressure gages found the problem. Runs fine now. Good luck. *BW*
