2005 pacifica in dash nav/gps
I just bought a used 2005 pacifica, and was wondering if i have the gps or not there is nothing on the dash that i can see where the nav/gps would be so im not sure the car has it but it does have the dvd player where you would update maps with cd in the rear compartment. is this standard to have this there and not have gps in the dash?

Well, I don't think any of that equipment would be there on a non-Nav equipped car. With the key in the run position push to eject the DVD from your reader under the cargo compartment. Do you have a Nav DVD in there? Do you have the Nav system operating manual in with your owner's manual? The Nav DVD remains in the player at all times during operation. You remove it for replacement with an updated DVD - they come out yearly and run about $200. I have purchased 1 to 2 year old disks on Ebay for around $50. The OEM part number for my '05 was 05064033AC. I purchased an AE on Ebay and I think AG is probably the latest. You can find AE's on Ebay now and/or you can order from Nav-Teq. Here is a snap of what a NAV equipped instrument cluster looks like. Notice the "cutout" along the top edge of the speedo - the Nav display is projected onto the angled glass over the speedo, and then the voice commands come over the stereo system. It is a nice setup overall. But with good solid Garmin's running under $100, you can buy a new Garmin every year and have a portable unit that is actually easier to use than the built in. With that said, I would not like mine to be completely inop either.
Let us know what you find out.

Fist, I cant see the pic you attached on here, it says for some reason i dont have permission. The car did not have a owners manual or nav manual. I do see the projection screen above the speedometer but nothing ever shows or comes on. There is no dvd in the dvd player in the back, would this cause the system to not show anything on the screen. I would hate to pay 50 bucks for no reason to find out theres another problem why it does not work. shouldn't the screen show something like no dvd or anything. could it be a fuse or broken projector?

For curiosity sake I pulled my Nav DVD out. When I then pressed the Nav button, the screen came on and and showed "please insert DVD-ROM". So you must have another issue. My manual shows that the Nav shares two different fuse positions with other components. On one is the radio and amplifier, the other shares among other things the Body Control Module. So you could check them, but if either of those were blown you should have other failures and inop items. Sorry.
