Question 2007 4.0 awd

I have a common problem with a torque converter on my 4.0 Pacifica. Dies immediately when shifting into Drive. Sounds like most folks find it is the TCC solenoid. Where is the solenoid located in what I think is the 62 TE tranny? I am amature back yard DIY er

I do believe that is part of the solenoid pack behind the front(of the vehicle) transmission cover.
I recently changed the solenoid pack on my '07 4.0 AWD.
It's a tricky job trying to get the cover and valve body out of the confined space where it resides, and an even trickier job to get the cover back on without smearing the RTV to seal the cover because there is no ready to use gasket for it.
It's not a hard job to do, it's just in a miserably tight spot.
I removed the radiator's top two bolts, lifted it out of the lower mounting holes, and pulled it as far forward as I could.
This gave me a couple of inches extra up front.
I also removed the nut from the front motor mount in order to be able to raise the front of the engine and transmission, which allows more clearance to remove/reinstall the cover because the K-frame is extremely close to the cover and valve body.
The solenoid pack bolts on THROUGH the valve body, so the valve body needs to be removed in order to do so.
Good luck!
