2007 pacifica
My car is using a lot of oil the first time I noticed this I took it to the dealer
they said who ever did the last oil change didn't close the lid all the way Yeah right!
Anyway it has done it again where there was almost no oil in the car ...... How can this be
there are no leaks ... Plus the oil light never comes on Hum
Any help on what I should do
Thank you much

What is the size of the engine? How many miles are on the engine? How often do you check the oil? As long as the engine has oil pressure, the oil light will not come on. 1 qt of oil is enough to build enough oil pressure.

You should NOT be hearing a ticking noise at all! Do you have a Touring or a base or se model? If you have a Touring or a AWD you have a 4. Liter engine and a 6 speed transmission. If you have the two rows of seats and it is not an AWD then you have the 3.8 engine. How often do you change oil and filter? Oil should be changes every 3,000 miles, but sometimes due to scheduling and getting into the dealer I might be close to 4,000 miles. I might suggest that you stick with a dealer to change your oil. If someone put in 6 quarts of oil in the 4. L engine instead of 5.5 quarts that is an overfull situation that can blow oil and use oil.
I have our dealer sending coupons for oil changes for $21.95 for 5 quart change. I bring an extra quart and they put the one half quart left over in the back area. I never have used any oil at all. These oil change places do not do a reliable job in my opinion, and often cost more than the dealer. I really like the dealer we use, and they wash the PAC everytime we go there.
