Default Beak/Caliper on 07 Pac 4.0L Touring

Just got my vehicle service at a Dodge dealership for maintenance and break job done. i only had the vehicle 6 to 7 months pre-owned with under 19,000 miles now at 40k. Iwas phone from service and told that the both rotors had to be replaced and a stud broke off on the caliber which had to be ordered. I was informed from the service department that PAC has a history of bad breaks and rotors. Not sure how true that statement maybe. Also for some odd reason I can not filled up the gas tank.

kimputers: 40,000 miles for the first brake job is pretty good as far as I am concerned. However a lot has to do with how you drive as to how long brakes last. If you drove the PAC even a few miles after hearing a grinding sound you most likely tore into the rotors. As for the calipers there again if your rotors got rela hot so it could damage them as well. It is best to have your brakes checkes at every oil change, which should be every 3,000 to 4,000 miles. Checking for ware can save a bunch of $.
I have not heard of PAC's being hard on brakes, so I can't say for sure about that issue. Hope this helps.
