Check Enginge light??? Won't go off.
We had a dead battery on our 04 pacifica and we charged it, then my husband drove it and the check engine light came on and flashed a code(which he did not write down) , but it has been several days and it won't go off. According to the manual, when the battery goes dead, this will happen, but should reset itself????? Any ideas? Dealership wants $75 to hook to computer. Is it really necessary? Thanks.

NO don't pay the dealer anything to reset a code. You can probably have Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, or similar stores hook it up (for free) to read the code and reset it. Or wait for it to go off on its own, which it should do after a certain number of engine starts. I'm not sure of the exact number on Chryslers... maybe 60? Someone else can probably tell you for sure, but the code will clear itself after awhile if the system does not detect an ongoing problem.

Thanks a bunch!! We have a few kinks to work out on our vehicle, and you helped us with the first. I also posted a thread about our pac when it hits a small imperfection in the road it wants to sway left to right( like a rocking motion) not horrible, but definitely there. Thanks again!!
