We have updated results for the Chrysler Pacifica to include owner experiences through December 31, 2009. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2007: 109

2006: 111

2005: 153

2004: 166

All are now worse than average. Sample sizes were small for all but the 2007.

A big thank you, once again, to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in May and August. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years.

Recently enhanced the related repair history survey so that it can (optionally) be used as a personal car maintenance record for cars 2000 MY and newer.

As always, more participants would be helpful. Updated Car Reliability Survey results in May.

The 2007 is now about average, while the others are worse than average. Sample sizes were small for all but the 2007.

In a couple of weeks we'll start previewing the next set of results to participants. The preview results will be updated as responses come in--for me it's like watching the results of a presidential election, only four times a year.

How many model years will we be able to fully cover this time around? It depends entirely on the number of owners that participate.

We have updated results for the Chrysler Pacifica to include owner experiences through June 30, 2010. Other sources of car reliability information won't cover the more recent months until the summer or even fall of next year.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2007: 101

2006: 120

2005: 124

2004: 141

All are worse than average. Small sample sizes for the 2004 and 2006.

Thank you, once again, to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in November and February. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years.

Sounds like you've had good luck with it.

In case it's not clear, the stats are based on information provided through the survey, not from posts to this thread.

My wife and I bought a new 2007 Pacifica Touring 2WD 4.0 v6. Overall we really like the vehicle. We've driven it coast to coast and back and its seen 23 states! About 55K miles now.

We have had some strange experiences though...mostly electrical.

1. Strange message about "liftgate" problem on gauge cluster occurred once.

2. Windshield wipers came on by themselves once (hasn't happened again).

3. The Air/Heat blower motor simply quit one day. It wouldn't turn on. Worked again after shutting the car off and back on again.

4. Last week the car just quit running while my wife was in a parking lot. She had plenty of gasoline, it was very strange. It hesitated to start up afterward, but all is normal now.

5. And a few weeks ago our back-up assist (not a camera) system shut-down. There's a message on the gauge cluster about it. The LEDs in the rear that assist you, are simply stuck on (a few of them) and it does not "beep" as you get closer to an object while backing up.

6. We have experienced the Torque Converter Shutter, but its has been very infrequent and was happening more at 10K-20K miles than it is now. I have an extended warranty and I'm watching that issue closely.

My biggest overall complaint about our Pacifica is the weak air conditioning system. It makes a lot of noise, but does't blow out air with any gusto. I also most wonder if some of the ducting is partially disconnected.

Updated reliability stats next month.

As always, the more owners participate, the better the information we can provide to everyone.
