Default DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS UPDATE

I am still attempting to get running lights turned on on our 07 Pac. Chrysler customer service was less than helpful. My local dealership contacted Chrysler about it but can't seem to get them to reply. Today I thought why not just call a dealership in Canada and see what I can find out. I first talked to service at Woodbine Chrysler Ltd in Ontario phone 905-415-2260 and was told US Pacs must have a module installed to turn them on. After re-reading the previous posts I see Jamie got them turned on at Provincal Chrysler at Windsor Ont phone 519-250-5500. I gave all this info to my local dealer and I am now waiting to see what they come up with.

That is similar to the experience that I had with my 99 Sebring JXi. Although, the BCM wasn't as "programmed" as my 08 Pacifica, the modification on the 99 was as simple as acquiring a module and literally plugging it in. Before installation lights worked normally. Removed the bolster under the steering column, plugged the module into the back of the BCM and reinstalled the bolster. Turned the key to ON and let the e-brake down, and there they were - working DRL's on a US car.

Hopefully you'll get to the same happy answer.

As an example I'm posting the module number for the Sebring. It may help you get your dealer folks into the right areas. p/n 4606139 - AB MODULE DA 8035031

I heard on another site that the dealer can do it with some kind of software update or modification. Many have had it done here in the states with no problem. Here's a quote on what to tell them to do:

The dealer is the only one who can turn it on. It says for 2005 but should be the same for all year Pacifica's Here is how they do it:

Service Bulletin
Number: 08-041-04
Group: Electrical
Date: December 10, 2004

Subject:
Enable daytime running Lamps (DRL)
Models:
2005 (CS) Pacifica (U.S. Market Only)

Special Tools/Equipment Required:
CH2002 - General Purpose Interface Bus Cable Assembly
CH6000A - Scan Tool (DRBIII)
CH7000A/7001A - J1962 Cable w/red DRBIII connector
TechCONNECT Workstation

1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position
2. Using the DRBIII, enable the DRL as follows:
1. DRBIII Standalone
1. 1998-2005 Diagnostics
1. All (Except Below)
3. Body Interior
1. Body Computer
9. Miscellaneous
8. Change Country Code
Go to page 2 of the "Select Country" menu
1. Canada
3. Disconnect the DRBIII
4. Test the DRL system to be sure it is operational
5. If the system is operation, proceed to Step #8. If the system is not operational, proceed to Step #6.
6. Verify that the vehicle is equipped with the fleet only sales code LMN.
7. Using the DRBIII, verify that the DRL is enabled. If the system is enabled but is not operational, further diagnosis is required.
8. Return the vehicle to the customer.

Policy:
Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
Labor Operation No:
08-19-02-90
Description:
Using DRBIII - Enable daytime running Lamps
Amount:
0.3 Hrs.

Mine did it for FREE. It took more time hooking up the computer then it did to do the switch.

MAKE SURE THE PARKING BRAKE IS RELEASED when you check to see if the DRL's work. THEY DO NOT COME ON when the parking brake is set.

Hope this helps!
