Disconnect shift cable from shifter box

Default Disconnect shift cable from shifter box
I'm trying to replace the "pink thingy" on my wife's 2007 Pacifica but I'm having trouble disengaging the shift cable from shifter box. I have pics but don't have permission to attach them. I could certainly email them to anyone who could help, it would be greatly appreciated!

Default Shifter cable remove
Were you able to remove the cable. I have removed everything but the cable. Let me know.
