Default As far as TPMS is concerned, are all wheels the same?

I am looking to buy aftermarket replacement wheels for my 2007 Pac. I see a lot of sites that advertise wheels that fit my Pac, does that mean that the TPMS valves will fit. Are TPMS valves "universal" as in 1 size fits all? I want to buy 17" wheels to replace the 19" ones that came on my Pac. I don't like the fact that there is basically 1 choice of tire for the 19" and the cost about 300 each when I can go with the 17" and have a much better selection and pay half the price each, not to mention a softer ride since the sidewall will be larger.

Hi,

I don't know about the "swapping out" of the TPMS sensors. But....I feel your pain with the 19's. I bought a limited. I knew going in about the price of the tires. When I replaced mine last year, I bought Hankook's. Ford puts them OEM on some of the Flex models - that's actually how I found them, I parked next to a Flex and was looking at it. I am very pleased so far with ride, noise and wear. I paid about $150 each. They are up to about $165 now, but I did notice that several new entrants have jumped into the 235/55/19 market. Have a look here.

Good luck with it.

Thanks busboy4. It's good that there is some choice but most of them are still expensive.

as far as the TPMS is concern..

if you are to buy a different set of rims.. you can use your TPMS and put them on the new rims.. unless you are buying OEM that are 17... which if you are, there is no way of telling if the TMPS are the same.

Apprently, Chrysler used 2 different brands.. 04-05 and 05-08... not sure why but they did.

I know 04 TMPS wont work on my 05..

hope this helps...
