Default FIRST OIL CHANGE

I do the oil changes and I like to drop the original oil early as I believe in a new engine there are very small bits of metal floating in the oil from initial wear. The mileage is 971 miles and I was shocked at what came out of the crankcase.

This stuff was the blackest most foul smelling "oil" I have ever seen. When I rubbed a bit of it between my fingers it even felt gritty.

Has anyone else ever experienced this? What in the world do those Canadians put in these new cars?

Default RE: FIRST OIL CHANGE

that sounds about right.. i intend on changing mine as soon as it becomes discolored. goto to mototuneusa.com and scroll down to break-in secrets and you will find out why i am gonna change my oil alot earlier..this rumor has always floated around but this guy has pistons out on the table showing the effects of proper break-in(according to the vehicle manual) and his method of break-in
