Default FWD Terrible in Snow/Rain

My FWD Pacifica is horrendous in the snow, and even when it is just wet out. My tires have excellent tread so that is not the problem. Do I go with snow tires or just a real good all-weather tire? Any suggestions? Thanks

Really good AWD tires. I HIGHLY recomend the Goodyear Tripple Tread Assurance tires.

BEFORE I read your reply I had already gone to Goodyear and bought 2 of the Triple Tread Assurance tires (rated #1 by Consumer Reports) and they are phenomenal! The Michelins that I had on my FWD Pacifica still had more than adequate tread remaining as verified by the technician, but it was the design of the straight tread that was the problem. They were fantastic for handling and comfort, but horrendous in snow and even just in rain. Obviously my family's safety is more important than comfort. I too HIGHLY recommend the Goodyear Triple Tread Assurance tires. They have not slipped ONCE since I got them last week!

I've personally been very pleased with HK520 Yokohama tires on my 04 FWD Pacifica. I've had no issues in rain. The tires ride smoother and handle better than the stock Michleins. We have not had significant snow in 3 years so I can not vouch for snow or ice performance.

Tires are probably the problem. Over the years I've had many different cars. Mostly performance sports cars. I currently own 10 cars the 05 awd Pac being one of them. Whenever I've had handling issues in rain or snow it was always the tires. Even new tires. I use www.tirerack.com as my tire source. Great place to check out reviews by hundreds of drivers on all kinds of tires. You don't need to buy them through the Tire Rack but their prices are tough to beat. Although I had Sears and another tire seller meet the Tire Rack price. As a matter of fact I just bought 4 tires for one of my cars earlier today, researched the tires through Tire rack and bought them from Tire Rack.
