Misfire and then P0430 codes...
Hi all, I have a '07 Pacifica and a month ago I had misfire issues in my car. During a trip, the MIL light started flashing, but I managed to return home from the trip with the car kind of behaving normally, as long as I kept it above 2000 rpm's. Below that the car would start shaking and vibrating a lot. But I did a 150 miles drive back home with the car misfiring...
So, after I changed the spark plugs and coils and misfire issues were gone. But after 1 day of taking the car back home from the mechanic the MIL light went back on, reporting a P0430 code. I knew that driving the car 150 miles with misfires could damage the catalytic converter, but I had to do the drive back...
I cleared the error code several times, but every 2-3 days I get it again. For sure I fried the catalytic converter right? Any advice of things I should try first, before replacing the converter? By the way, I can damage my car driving it with that problem?
Thanks!
