Will a 3.5 motor from a 2004 Pacifica work in a 2005 Pacifica that also has 2.5 motor?

Not as a staight drop in, the motor mounts are in a different place and a couple other things, like the oil pressure sensor is in a different place.

you could make it work, the block is the same, you would need to chase down the differences, add some extensions to the wiring harness where sensors are located in different places (2004 has oil sender near the oil filter, 5 6 has it behind the serpentine belt pulley, reuse your old motor mounts, might need to fabricate a bracket or something.

I think it would bolt to the trans ok tho.

also the big metal thing under the engine is different too, carriage ?I forgot the term.

I think that was a typo.

I thought she wanted to put a 2.7 in at first too but then read read it more carefully .

same question from me

will a 2004 3.5 fit a 2005 3.5?
What's different, I know they had to Change the cradle because of rust issues, was it just a coating,or alloy chage, or are they structurally different?

they say compatability is only 2005 and 2006, but I was at the scrap yard today and they look exactly the same to me.
(pro tip, buy engines from SCRAP yards instead of "used auto parts" junkyards. You have to pull the parts yourself, but major savings. All motors are $240 at mine, tioga, in Philadelphia. Junkyard cheapest quote $850.

2004-2006 use the same 3.5L and 4 speed automatic. They are all compatible, engine mounts are the same, but possibly different PCM programming. Be sure to get a new PCM programmed for whichever year of motor that you purchase, meaning you will need the VIN from same year Pacifica.

Hope this helps!
