Default New strange sound, tracked it down, how to fix?

Wife came home in her 07 Pacifica witht he 4.0 engine complaining of an "awful noise". My friend and I jumped in and took it for a test ride. Everything worked as it should have but when the automatic transmission shifted from 2nd-3rd it made a loud squeal. Then it did it again going from 5th-6th. We then came to a stop and put it into manual shift mode and started upshifting and the noise happened again. Now it doesn't seem to matter if you are upshifting or down shifting and only makes the noise in those 2 gears. Granted the noise is louder while upshifting as the car is under more of a load.
Since the car doesn't have a transmission dipstick and I need to get one from the dealer to check the tranny fluid, I'm at a stand still until the dealer opens tomorrow. I'm just hoping it is maybe a little low. There is no real noticable leaks on the ground but it is pretty dirty under the hood. I will pressure wash the engine bay tomorrow and try to get the dip stick to check the tranny fluid.
Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Not sure if this is the condition that your experiencing but take a look at the TSB info below, perhaps a simple software flash can correct the concern.

Is there more than 1 transmission flash? I recently had a trans flash that sounds like this and it seems to have caused more problems than it fixed. Shifts are harsher and fuel economy has gone in the crapper.
