Had not yet read code.
The CEL comes on and off periodically.
It may come on and last a few days then goes off for a few week or months.
Awhile back I replaced Gas Cap.
That kept light off for months.
Every now & then I fill it with 93 octane and the CEL will go out.
Is this typical with CEL, going on and off for months at a time?
Car has 75k and runs great.

 

It may not even be the same code setting every time. Get it scanned.

 

It shuts off before I get a chance to get it scanned.
It went on the other day.
I had driven about 250 miles at highway speeds towing.
Next time on start up it was on.
Stayed on next few times when I started it up.
Drove same distance back this time not towing.
CEL stayed on.
Next morning on start up no more CEL and so far it's off.
Usually when this happens it says off for months.
It does not seem to me that this is any serious problem to be concerned about.
Or at least I hope so. I could care less if this CEL comes on and off periodically as long as it does not cause any problems.

This has been going on for more about 14 months.

 

The codes will stay in the computer for over 40 started even if it turns off
