Default pac 05 seat motor problem

Had problems with front driver seat motors, got advise from this blog that it may be the
seat control module under front seat, took to mechanic and yes it is the module and
THERE HAVE BEEN ALOT of problems with this module and IT'S BEEN ON RECALL.
It would have been nice to have gotten that advise from this blog and the specialists
It's recall D39---when you touch the door handle from cloth seat models it creates static electricity and zaps the module---the part is always on BO

Interesting, I just bought a used 2005, and that appears to be my one major problem.
I'll have to ask the local dealer about it.

Have you had yours replaced,...at what cost??

I just inquired with a dealer this afternoon, and they told me they did not have any such recall?

Or is that an incomplete recall number??

Another service manager walked into the room tolds the end of my inquiry and told me that all three seat motors were 'welded' to the frame (seat frame I suppose), and so could not be replaced singularly.

What I would really like is just a little tweaking of the backrest portion and the lumbar support. Wasn't asking for the whole seat to be replaced....ouch.
