Radio reception issues
#12
I had a '16 200 and put 47,000 miles on it. Loved it. I just traded it for a '17 200 with 9,000 miles on it. The radio on the '16 was great, the FM on the '17 is fine, but the AM is awful. Stations that came in fine on the '16 are about half and half sound and static, like I'm at the edge of the coverage area. I took it to the local Chrysler dealer (under warranty) and he replaced a couple parts but to no avail. He says Chrysler told him to compare the reception to another '17 200 with the same engine. He doesn't have one, so it's up to me to find one. I can't believe that Chrysler (or any car company for that matter) would put a worse (cheaper?) AM radio in a car than what they put in last year's model. Anyone else with this problem? Any suggestions as to correcting the problem? I'm not about to listen to NPR for the next 5-6 years!

We're sorry to hear you're experiencing this with your AM stations. Although we cannot provide any technical feedback, are you thinking about getting an official inspection from your dealer? Send us a private message if we can be of any assistance with that process.
