Default Rear speakers not turning off

I just bought 2 more IR headphones last night to add to my current set of 2 since we now have 3 kids. They work fine but the rear audio still does not turn off when the headphone button is pressed on the remote. I suppose I could use the fader but would like to use the system as designed. 2004 loaded Pac (except NAV) with all factory installed stuff before I bought it new. RBP radio (am/fm/cassette/single cd) and 6 disc DVD changer. Again this is the IR system. My radio icon is a headphone , not A/B when power is pressed on the remote.

Any clues?

Ramon

Thanks, Manual states they turn off (the rear door speakers that is)when you press the headphone button. I hear others complain that they buy headphones(the wrong ones like you have seen here) and the rear speakers turn off but the headphones don't work. So I know it can do it, just not sure why mine does not.
