Default remote start

I have a 04 pac and I want to install a remote start on it. I took it to a thrid party company to install the remote start and they told me that they would have to take a chip out of my keys in order for the remote start to work. Is that normally what's done?

I will be putting one on my 06. I was looking at keyless transponders that are programmed using your key, but your keys remain intact and with you. I will probably go mopar now that they finally have it with the transponder bypass also. A quick google http://www.12volt-travel.com/pats-ke...e9cc9cf6740d18

Is this the key with the built-in key fob? I want to add remote start to my 07. Is the Mopar kit the way to go?

I am going with the mopar kit. I hope its works ok. I will take pics of the install and post when I do it, but it won't be for a while.

the mopar kit done not need to use one of your keys it will have its own module and it will learn the key code off the keys.

Do NOT get a dealer installed/DIY Mopar remote starter. They are ****. The range is horrible. They are only one way starters. Get a good after market 2 way starter.
