Default Replace Stock Radio

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone has replaced their stock radio with one of the media center radios? I have a 2007 Pacifica with the stock radio and satellite. I do not have the nav, dvd or cd changer. I was looking on ebay at some of the Chrysler RES radios (Media Center 130). Would they fit?

Thanks,
Dominic

Hi,
Curious, what capabilities are you looking to gain?

The AUX port is what I'm looking for. I've found these radios cheaper than buying an iPod interface. I've found that as new iPods are released, these interfaces don't always work or charge the newer iPods, where an AUX port will always work. Plus it would work for other things, laptops, portable DVD players, etc...

Based on your response you want to keep it cost effective and I am all for that. With that said I think this might be the cleanest way to do it. Then you use a 1/8" headphone to rca adaptor to hook up the iPod. This is what I do in my '05 Limited. I have the changer and DVD player, but the aux imputs are the same as this unit. The other problem with the ipod adaptors is that you lose your satellite radio as detailed here. (EDIT) click on the "installation details" icon.

Well, since I don't use the satellite radio, I guess I'll just go with the ipod interface.

I was looking at this on ebay, but didn't know if it would fit: eBay

Doesn't a 2007 Pacifica have an Oval Face radio?

I would think at the very least that you would have wire harness issues. Take a look at Crutchfield.com and in the car audio section click on "outfit my car". Their database is pretty extensive as to stock radio setups and is a good place to research whether or not you buy from them. I have bought from them a few times and their customer service and tech support are fantastic. If you were to purchase an ipod adaptor from them the paperwork would come with all the installation info i.e. how to take apart the dash etc.

I have installed an ipod adaptor similar to what Crutchfield sells and it worked great.

Good luck

It looks square to me. The radio in my SRT Neon is definitely oval. That's why I though they might be interchangeable.
