Default strut replacement

is there a recommended interval for strut replacement on a 2006 pacifica?

if so, what is it?

and does anyone have any recommendations here other than the Chrysler brand ones from the dealership?

I plan to do change them out myself. I will rent the compressor kit from the local autozone. I am familiar with the procedure and risks involved

as the time is getting closer to do this, I have some questions about the rear

I guess there isn't rear struts, there looks to be just a shock, but it is weird and comes up as being like $500 online

so, do I have air suspension or electronic suspension/ or does it not matter?

for sure, there is a coil mounted in the a-arm and a shock separated, but it isn't like a regular shock, the bottom portion is thick, and the top portion appears a lot thicker than usual as well

Yeah the rears are an odd animal. Monroe calls for a 40211. Rock auto has them, as well as KYB's for about $250 ea.

As for the fronts, Rock has those as well. They also carry the quick struts (fully assembled with coil spring), monroe 172130 L/R for $152 ea. and Monroe is offering a $60 rebate when you buy two. If the price differential is not that important to you vs. standard struts, the quick struts are great. No messing with the springs.

Less worried about the price and more worried about the quality. What brands are out there? So far, I have seen napa, monroe and kyb. This is my wifes pac and she puts a lot of miles on her car with our kids

Yeah all I am seeing is the KYB's and Monroe's too other than OEM. Chrysler parts direct
has the front struts for $89 and the rear shocks for $340. I don't know the KYB brand but I have used the Monroe's. I have always heard that Bilstein is a good brand but they do not make any Pacifica shocks or struts. At a glance it looks like Rock Auto is the way to go price wise. I have always had very good service from them.
