Shock/Strut Replacement
I've got 95k on my 04 AWD Pac. The ride has become soft and the car floats around more than it used to. Does anyone have a recommendation for front and rear shock/strut brand?
Also, does anyone have instructions for replacing them? Will I need an alignment when I'm done? Any special tools required?
Thanks!!

Edevries,
Here is what I found.
Monroe had Sensa-Trac and Reflex models. Sensa-Trac being the premium choice.
Front struts part # 72130 at AutoPartsGiant.com = $85.26 ea.
Bearing Plate part # 905911
Rear struts specialty part# 40211 = $329.46 ea.
I am having mine done today. I am only doing the front because the rear seems solid. The front floats a little and I like a tighter feel. I noticed the softness in the front when I go over speed bumps. I will let you know how it goes.

I'm very interested to know how your car performs with the replacement struts. I'd like to start with my fronts as well. Are you having the dealer or a local shop do it? Thanks!
edevries,
I had the dealer replace my front struts and while they where at it I had them do the outer tie rod ends as well.
It rides much better now. Know more floating when on the highway. But I would still prefer a little firmer ride.
Had the struts, tie rod ends and four wheel alignment done for just over $700. for all parts and labor. They even drove me home and picked me back up.
