Default Suggestions for Extended warranty

I purchased a 2005 AWD with 33,000 Miles on it and the dealer wanted to sell me a 7 year warranty for $1,772. I am sure I can do better even through Chrysler. Anyone have suggestions for getting the best deal?. I am also confused as to the lengthof the contract,it's hard to get a straight answer from these guys. The way I read it the warranty actually starts at the date the vehicle was first titled so I am buying a 7 year warranty that starts 3 years before I owned it? HELP!!!

Thanks

Check this site - I have bought one there before and found them to have the best prices. This is a Chrysler original warranty:
http://www.eservicecontracts.com/

Price varies based on deductible as well... evaluate the cost/benefit of a $100 versus $50 versus $0. Last I knew, the Chrysler deductible was also PER VISIT not per ITEM. I have simply left things un-fixed in the past until I had a few things to repair so I only paid the $100 deductible once to have simple things repairs that were not critical (i.e. the cd player went bad,...)

There are also many after market warranty companies out there, which I have also used in the past with great success.

You do need to understand your cars "in service date" as that starts the clock with any Chrysler extended warranty. Some of the after market will start when you buy it... but hurry - if you do not buy it within the first 36,000 miles you may not be eligible, or pay a premium for that.

The credit union where I got my loan suggested AUL. It is apparently offered through many lender.

My coverage includes no deductible. Have had two occasions to use it............no problems.

I have a 2004 Pacifica that I just bought the 8 yr 100,000 mile max care warranty for $1700 with a $100 deductible. I bought ours as a certified used with the 8 yr 80,000 miles powertrain warranty on it. I shopped around quite a bit and found that price online first and approached my dealer with the figure and they matched it. Not a bad deal I thought. Not a lot of money for the piece of mind and it is a Chrysler Factory backed warranty.

This is where I got my quote from first before I called my local dealer.

I am looking at used and new Pacificas. One of my hangups is whether to buy a warranty on a used one. As a second owner, are there any warranties that are carried over (possibly with minimal deductible), or is it better to purchase an extended warranty plan.

You might be able to but the powertrain warranty for a fee. can't remember what it is sometimes it is transferrable to 2nd owner. I would suggest a CSC, chrysler service contract, just because of the ease of use on them. You can use them at any chrysler dealership. Whats also nice is that when you buy it and you leave the warranty at home or wherever they can still find it online.

I bought a 2005 Town ad Country from my Uncle. He had the 7 year 70k mile Chrysler Service contract of which 5k miles were left on it when I bought it. Chrysler let me buy a "used car" service contract. I added 50k more miles and 5 more years. The lowest ded. was $100 for the used CSC. So yes.. a second owner can get a CSC, you just have to transfer the 7/70 k power train.. if it has one 1st. This cost unfortunatley was $150 for the powertrain warranty and $50 for the original service contract transfer. Personally, I would get the Chrysler warranties.. I have never had an issue with them.

BTW.. If the vehicles never had a CSC, I think you can still get one as a "new Car warranty" as long as it less than for years and 36k miles. The fee is cheaper if it is less that one year and 12k miles. I bought a CSC just before 12 k miles on my Ram just about a year after I bought it. The selling dealer wanted an arm and leg for the warranty when I 1st bought the truck so waited a while so I could shop for them. Eservicecontracts took real good care of me.

Default Question Regarding Extended Warranty for 2005 Town and Country

I have a 2005 Town and Country that is more than 7 years old with around 100,000 miles on it. I am the original owner and had a 7year/100,000 mile warranty that is now expired. Is there any extended warranty available for this car now from Chrysler, say to cover it to 200,000 miles? How much would it cost and where would I get it from?
