Default trans filter/fluid change quantities

I'm doing a fluid/filter change in the tranny tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone had an "estimate" on how much fluid empties out when the pan is dropped, so I can go buy some new stuff. Any suggestions on a particular brand or type of fluid? The dealer here wanted to charge over 100 to flush the converter, and that didn't include replacing the filter.

I bought my filter and gasket kit from Autozone. You have to use about 4 qts of ATF+4. Some of the bolts are hard to reach on the tranny pan so you actually have to remove the two large engine mount bolts and raise the engine a couple inches.

Default fluid flush, still got a shudder

I paid the local dealer to flush all 17 quarts of fluid out of the system and then refill. I also added 20oz. of the red bottle of Lubegard to the fluid, after removing 20oz. of trans fluid. The converter shudder is noticeably better but is still present at partial throttle in 3rd and 4th gears. I know this is going to lead to a converter replacment but is there anything else I can do to fix this thing? I read the TSB on reprogramming the trans computer, but my dealer tells me it's only a temporary fix and that the converter will shudder again after it thinks it's "broken in".
