RE: up grading head lights ?
I have, but not on this vehicle and they blow quickly. I had both bulbs blow within a year. To me, not worth it. There is another brand that people have had better results with but I can't recall the name. Maybe someone will post it. Even though I'm going to put in HIDs that I have laying around the stock lights are very bright in my opinion.

Well I don't have the Silverstar Ultras on my PAC yet I have have had them on my 2002 Impala for almost 1 1/2 years so far and they are still working great. I know some have not had the best results with them in terms of longevity, but I really like them. Thay are much whiter and brighter and the distance they project is really nice. I know they are a bit pricey but if you watch some of the autoparts ads you can find them for under $40 a set.
Just my 2 cents

To tell the truth the HIDs don't give more heat than the halogens. I think you may be thinking about the reflectors in the housings are different.
There are some who have used a HID kit with the standard Pac housings and at most only had to adjust the light level. The problem with my HID kit is that it has D2S bulbs which look like they won't fit in the space that's allowed for the halogen bulb. I would be happy with the OEM lights if the D2S bulbs don't fit.
