Engine running, foot on brake but car will not shift out of park. No lights on dash to indicate any problems. I do hear a "click" coming from the shifter housing so something is trying to move in there.

I checked this evening and the interlock is releasing but the lever feels as if it is mechanically jammed somewhere. Afraid to force it.
