I have a 2002 Base PT Cruiser and am hearing what I think is a whirling sound coming from the front of car, sounds go away when I tap the breaks. I changed the front disk pads on both sides but still get this noise. It is not a metal scraping sounds more like a hum but though it was the pads worn out so I changed them. Did not visually see anything on the brakes that would cause this. All the ball joints and tie rod ends look good. Hard to tell what this is. Any suggestions?
