2001 PT Cruiser won't start
PT would not start! Started out erratic, then became more frequent. When my wife would go to the store, she would shut it off and go shopping come back out and it would not start. She would try to start the car several times and after several tries it would start. The dealer kept the car for a couple days, testing and could not find the problem. We checked the fuel pressure and it would take the engine turning over 30-40 times before the pressure would reach the required pressure the it would fire. We changed the fuel pump twice, seemed to be better each time then a couple days later the same thing happened. I tried starting it today, it cranked 10-15 times and fired.

remove the fresh air hose going to the throttle body and have someone spray some carb cleaner into the throttle body as you try to start, if it fires right up, you have a fuel problem, then you can start from there to pin point the problem, the pt needs around 53 psi fuel pressure to start and run good, your next step is to locate or borrow a fuel pressure gauge and test the fuel pressure, autozone & advance auto should have the tester you need for a cash deposit only
