2001 Stalling

RE: 2001 Stalling
This sounds strange, but when I had this problem, I disconnected the battery for a day. It seemed to have reset the computer or something, and the problem went away. I wrote about it here:

I'd love to know if a similar approach helped you.

RE: 2001 Stalling
2003 PT Cruiser 5 spd Stalled at stop and RMP drop to 500, I fixed the problem
1- replaced cam and crank sensors (@ $60.00 for both)
2- replaced spart plug Champion #7570 (@ $20.00)
3- replaced mopar spart plug wires
4- cleaned throttle body
5- spay using CRC electronic cleaner (@ $6.00) Intake Air Temperature sensor.
Gook Luck !

Well I found out where the crank sensor is on a 2001 pt. cruiser limited with a 5 speed transmission , its right above the oil filter in the block on the firewall side.I had the misfortune of having this sensor break off at the block and spent several hours trying to drill a hole in it to put an easy out in and retract it , finally it came out . It was soaked with oil right up to the wiring connector . This means the sensor was leaking and taking on oil so it had to be cracked , it would shut off the hotter the vehicle got and more frequent. The cost of the part was around 100.00 the labor was free. This has solved my stalling issue . Now I found out I have a leaking back shock. Oh well an easy fix .

Same issue-Stalling at low RPM
I have a 2001 PT that stalls when the RPM is below 1000. It has 116K, and it just started this. Runs great otherwise. I've done new plugs, Wires, air filter, PCV value and line, camshaft sensor, and spray alot of cleaner into the throttle body. Not sure where to go from here. Suggestions would be soooo welcome!

Same problem here 2001 touring I replace the crank sensor and only last 2 weeks
later i replace the crank and cam sensor at the same time i notice the midle wire in the 3 pin plug was broken
i resolder the wire and no more problems
if the computer counts 20 errors that can not see the signal , it will shut donw the vehicle and give you errror 1391
check your wiring pull the calbes one by one
good luck

Not sure with this but it might help a bit.I hope so.The error code 1390 says the relationship between the crank and cam signal is not good.It suggests to me that the crank signal is not strong. The sensor is just behind the generator, above the oil filter attached to the block.
