Default 2003 engine quit

I was driving along and the engine shut off, all power stayed on. When I tried to start it nothing happens when in the sort position. I checked all connections and fuses finding no problems. I then checked to see if there was power on the trigger wire at the starter solenoid when the key was in the start position , there was not, I then swapped the horn relay with the starter relay, no change.
I also tried a jumper wire from battery to the trigger wire terminal, engine turns over just fine. What's next?

well here is the catch a starter has nothing to do with the engine quitting while driving.
Any codes in the computer?
