Default 2005 pt won't go faster than 65mph all of sudden

My daughter's 2005 pt cruiser was running fine then she said while driving it, she said when she would reach 65, her car would start sputtering and seeming like it wanted to die. Can someone help?she goes back to college on Sunday night.

Turbo model? mileage? any recent engine maintenance done? Check Engine Light come on? IF so have you checked for any computer fault codes?

The car seems to run ok until you get close to 65. Then it starts sputtering and acting like it wants to die, but if you slow down, it's ok again

Get the computer fault codes read. No point in guessing. If there are no codes, then it's time to guess. I'd start with the fuel filter, but that can be expensive if it requires removing the fuel tank. First get the codes.

Well Sunday evening has passed a few days ago now, You did not respond to requests for giving you further assistance. Would you care to share if you had it repaired and what the problem turned out to be?
