I have been working for a long time to clear a EGR code on my 2002 PT Cruiser with 174K miles. Finally found a bad seal in the tube from the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold. Now I get a code P1163. Is this something to do with the catalytic converter or? How to fix it? Thanks

 

Recheck your codes p1163 is not a valid code for this year

 

The work I did cured the EGR code, but immediately at start the code P1163 comes in. I have cleared it several times and it comes back the same.

 

Suggest using a different OBD reader or visiting an auto parts strore to have the codes read and verified. Have the stored codes pulled as there may be no longer active that may give additional information.

 

You are right! Took it to O'Reillys and the code was P-1169-air intake temperature sensor. Replaced the sensor and no mor check engine light! Thanks for the help!
