Sound is very good, deep and throaty, but not excessive. You can still hear your sound system at normal volume levels - except, maybe for wide-open-throttle instances - in which case we'd better be paying more attention to our driving than the stereo anyway. The sidepipe system does come with an optional straight pipe which can be installed instead of the glasspack muffler; but, since the glasspack and straight pipe both have the same internal diameter, there's no point in doing so - aside from the added noise drowning out otherwise annoying music and assisting police to locate you from greater distances.
