Default flexplatel/torque converter jammed

New member here, I have recently done a head gasket job on my 2002 PT Cruiser 2.4 automatic. Attempting to reattach the tranny, I got the torque converter bolted on to the flexplate, but as I torque down the main tranny to engine bolts, the flexplate/torque converter jam up, making it impossible to turn using the crankshaft bolt. I have had the tranny back out twice and I am certain that the torque converter is seated correctly. Anyone been through this headache before? Any ideas? Thanks!

When you put in the torque converter, did you turn it till it was fully seated?
If you do not, it will do exactly what you have described.

Unhappy

Yes, it drops about another inch when you find the notch, it wouldn't go any further and the torque converter was below the edge of the bell housing. I am planning on loosening the bolts until I can turn it again and see if I can see any potential jam points. Very frustrating.
