The odds are heavily in favor of a leaking pump but be aware it could also be a leaking fuel injector or leak anywhere in the fuel delivery system. No heavy fuel smell up front or under the van and no visible puddles or stains on the fuel tank are quick checks.

No fuel smell whatsoever. I tend to think the starting issue is the pump and will gladly replace it to prove that point. Only wish I had access to my Mopar distributor at the time and put a Mopar pump in it to begin with. The Airtex has a lifetime warranty so the replacement is free.


My only concern now is why the bad gas mileage in the last few weeks.
