Hi folks, this 06 Grand Caravan SXT has 230K miles, I'm hearing some groaning when driving slow and maneuvering. I suspect the ball joints need to be lubed, but instead of a grease fitting there is something that looks like a grease fitting but the wrong size.

How have you all handled this situation? Can this thing be removed and a grease fitting installed? Or am I wasting my time and need to replace the ball joint?
