Default 06 GV - Leaf Spring Bushes

I got an MOT advisory that the leaf spring bushes were showing signs of wear, they are now occasionally knocking.

I can get the bushes from Car parts Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, American - but popped down to the local tyre place this morning and they couldn't tell me how long/how much it would cost to change them. They started off at a couple of hours, and between them ended up at a day, and then maybe overnight.

Has anyone changed the bushes on their leaf springs? Arethey easy to do? Did any bolts snaps? Is it worth advance application of WD-40 etc? Any pitfalls or experience to share please?

Many thanks

Steve

Usual way to get these bushes out unless you have a puller is destruction method by burning out rubber then cutting outer tube from inside. But a good heavy punch might do it as the spring housing is not complete due to how spring is made in a closed "C" at the ends. Replace with socket over outer bush and pull it through with screwed bar. Preparation is the key on fitting, smooth faces and lubrication.
