Default Leaf Spring Replacement

Hi all,

On a recent holiday trip to Wales, we had a little mishap with the car.

On the way out of the holiday park to go to the coast for the day, as I came off a speed ramp (slowly) one of my leaf springs snapped.

We had the car recovered home (cutting our week holiday 3 days short) and I have sourced some springs.

I am going to fit them tomorrow and although the job looks really simple, I just wondered if anyone is aware of any pitfalls I may encounter?

Me wife, 12 year old daughter and 2 year old son were not too impressed with having our holdiay shortened, but I said as long as we get the car sorted, it's not too bad.

Thanks in advance
Mike

Dan,

Thanks for the offer, but I have a few mates from the Omega Owners Forum (where I used to be when I owned one) coming over to offer support, for me and the axle

As you are so local, I reckon we should meet up at some point and talk "crap". If you fancy a trip to Reading tomorrow, let me know and I'll let you know where we are

Thanks again and I will bear you in mind for future works.

Mike

OK, the job has been done, but we damaged the front bolt on the leaf spring (the big one that goes through the bush on the spring) and I wondered if anyone here had a couple I could buy?

Thanks
Mike

Default No Longer Supplied!!!

I called my local Chrysler dealer today (Knowl Hill Garage) to get a price on new leaf springs only to be told that do not supply this part anymore.

So if it happpens again, my car will have to run on 2nd hand parts
