1997 T&C A/C blows warm
Okay, I knew this when I bought the van last fall. Is it likely just in need of a charge? And if so it had to leak out somewhere, where is the most likely spot for a leak to occur? I have seen kits for charging that have dyes to diagnose the site of a leak and I have seen kits that claim to have a sealer included in the freon. Before I go and spent $100+ to have a mechanic look at it are there any relatively inexpensive things that I can try?
The evaporator under the dash in the plastic plenumn coorodes and leaks out. You will find oil in the bottom of the plenum...have to remove the entire dash to change aound $1200 for dealer to do, around $300 to do it yourself....plan on a long weekend..
