2.5 Crd 2001/2 transmission removal

hi all, I need to replace the rear oil seal, I have the tech guide which seems pretty straight forward, however, is it possible to remove the transmission box without dropping the engine down?

Hi, I had this done on my 2001 CRD at the same time the clutch was done... no need to drop the engine out, just remove the gearbox & flywheel
