Question 2.8 crd fuel injection pump removal

Hello,
I need to refurbish the fuel injection pump of voyager 2.8 crd 2005: is there a way to remove it without the special tools?
Thanks

The special tool looks like it just required to hold the drive pulley whilst the centre nut is undone. While the special tool will make it easier, I'd be very surprised if you couldn't find something else to hold it - big screwdrives, pry bars and sections of uni-strut can come in handy.

Let us know how you get on

Regards
Richard

I think that's not a problem to hold the pulley (and uscrew the nut), but to separate it from the pump body. I think that's a conic assembly...

I think no conic assembly there. Has to be accurate. Therefore a wedge track there for perfect timing. You see it once pulley is off

The hard job is not loosening the nut, but the pulley as it most likely stuck with the splint in there and over the time. Use some penetrating oil and let it rest over night or more. Then should come off eventually.
