Default 2.5 CRD LX cambelt change tools

Hi to all,
I am New to the Forum, so forgive me any basic errors!!!

Looking at changing the cambelt on my Voyager 2003 2.5 CRD, have changed belts before and have been 'playing' with cars for............ well, far too many years!!!!

I know there is a Sealy kit of tools (sealey vse 5056) to hold the camshafts and flywheel etc. but I have a load of studding, nice bolts and bits and pieces that I think I could quite happily knock-up a set, also, I begrudge paying £50 - £70 for what is essentially a box of reworked bolts!!!!! (and I probably have too much time on my hands!)

Anyone got the sizes / dims. for the bits in question, if I do create anything I'll post a few pics!

Default CRD Cambelt Change.

Hi, I've done quite a few cambelts in mylife time too, but after looking down that slim gape between belt housing and inner wing, as well as finding out about all the Auxilliary belts and their tensioners, I just got my garage to do it. Belt kit comes in at just under £200 and with 4 hours for job, total under £500.
Maybe I'm just getting old...but I have done the Thermostat Valve, front end Suspension and working on rear brakes.
Goggs.

My mechanic that done my snapped timing belt work is the sort of guy that can build and fabricate motorbikes like you see on the discovery channel.

He said you needed the 5056.

I've got the 5056.

Think the problem was locking the fuel pump possibly?

I'm away tonight, but should be back tomorrow evening. I'll dig out the kit, take a pic or two and measure the bits.

Just as an afterthought, if your belt's not snapped, I'm sure you shouldnt need the sealy kit.

Thanks for that, Scotsman4th,
the locking tools are kinda' back-up safety because theres not a lot of room and it only takes it to be one tooth out.............

Looking at the kit again, it seems quite specific with certain bits threaded etc.

Mines is an AST4945 which is the same as the 5056 (my mistake lol).

I've posted some pictures on photobucket it's a picture of the kit and the instructions.

Hope that helps.

Edit, nope, you cant click on them on photobucket and enlarge them so you can read them. If you want to PM me an email address, I could send them to you.

Have a look at this link and see if it's any use.

Photo and image hosting, free photo galleries, photo editing

Not sure if you'll be able to zoom in enough to read them.

Just checked, I right clicked one and selected "save picture as". When I opened it, I could zoom in enough to read/see it.
