Default 2001 T&C Tranny leak.

I have a leak from the front of my tranny towards the top. Seems to be above the tranny pan. There is a small rectagle 3"x5" above the pan. Seems to be a selenoid or something that seems to be where the leaking is coming from.
What is this part?
Is it easy enough for the average do-it-yourselfer to tackle?
Is it best to drop the pan and replace filter and gasket at the same time?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default RE: 2001 T&C Tranny leak.

its called a selenoid pack and it costs around $220 for the part. Humm i guess u can do it it takes me around 30 min to put one in and I have done oo... 100 or so in 11 years. Tools to take out the speed sensors big socket cant remember it right off hand i just know where it is in my tool box hehe. Remove the cooler lines air filter box and housing ahhh swivle 10mm socket to ge to the back 2 bolts humm pry bar. Take a first timer hour and a half or more. If u have never done a tranny service then yeah time for one it should be done every 30k. I live in the ATL area something i can do on the side if u need it.
