Default 2001 Uk Grand Voyager - Reverse lights stopped working

Hi,

Can anyone help?

I have a 2001 manual Grand Voyager and both the reverse lights have just stopped working.
Is there a fuse somewhere for these, or is there a gearbox switch that tells the lights when the cars in reverse?

Thanks,
Steve.

Thanks for the reply. How do I go about checking this recall? Do I need to just contact my local dealer with the VIN number? Does the recall have a specific number I can quote to them?

Thanks,
Steve.

No just give them your vin and ask them to run a VIP sheet as for may also have other recall outstanding.

Hi,

New Chrysler owner but old second hand Chrysler bought... I have the same issue in that the reversing lights have stopped working. This info is 6 years old, is it still valid or am I just going to have to speak to a mechanic and get it sorted...?

Cheers,
Rob.

Should have said, I have an 03 plate 2.5 Diesel Manual Grand Voyager... if that makes any difference.

Ta,
Rob.

Go back to 11-21-2013 No reverse lights. I've got same problem still to sort out. It seems its the BCM that controls the rear backup lights, but the signal for it must come from the Gearbox. Auto-boxes probably get signal from gear its in on dash.
I was told by my MOT Garage that I needed a new gearbox switch and asked if I wanted it ordered. Would have got it sorted by now if I had.
Wire for Backup lights in boot is White/Light Green.

2003 Voyager Ltd, 2.5CRD.

Brilliant - I have located a tame ex-Chrysler mechanic who I have to contact and see how helpful he is so will ask about this and if it might be any other issue and what about the costs of potential problems and will post back if I find anything new.

Cheers goggs.

On a US spec van at least, signal comes out of the Transmission Range Sensor in the transmission (4 speed **) to the Front Control Module (FCM). From there it goes out on the PCI data bus to the BCM then out to the lights.

** If you have a 3 speed tranny it uses an old tried and true park/neutral switch external on the tranny.

Cheers Raptor, it's not I'm afraid... It's a UK model 5 speed manual transmission.

(I should update my signature)...

I see that others have replaced the actual switch in the gearstick housing and the BCM unit so i'll start cheap and try the switch, though I still should call Chrysler if that was good information about a recall for this exact fault.

Cheers all,

Rob.
