Default 2004 Grand Voyager 2.8 CRD - Blowing Hot and Cold!

Hi
Ive discovered a problem with my voyager is these cold months!
The automatic climate control is playing up.
With the temp set to HI on both left and right, sometimes the air is warm but most of the time, regardless of setting, the air comes out cold.
No difference when the Aux heater is on also.

Is there a test I can do?

Thanks!

Hi,
This sounds like the good old thermostat problem, take a look at a few of these threads and see if thats the problem:

https://www.chryslerforum.com/forum/...nrgular-16435/

https://www.chryslerforum.com/forum/...-normal-15950/

https://www.chryslerforum.com/forum/...ng-cool-11158/

I suspect this will be your problem too, so have a look at your temperature gauge and see what it shows.

BTW if you get/find a thermostat for yours, let me know please where you got it from, I'm finding it almost impossible to source a thermostat for mine :-(

£14 delivered here - put your engine code in for absolute certainty cos they don't show as 2.5 !

EDIT : these are listed as UK delivered 2.5

Yeah, unfortunately what I need is for the 2.8CRD (as OP) which seems to hike the price up, the 2.5 regular seems a lot cheaper as you've found. Around £65 it appears is the going price for the 2.8CRD part for most years.

(I referred to the 2.5 post as its got a lot of good generic information in there too, worth a read)

Thanks for reply AndyB.
I solved the problem of no hot air as the coolant was low. (dont know why, but ive been checking the level, and its seems ok now)

However, I think that I do need a new thermostat anyway, as it never reaches the halfway line (just below after 45mins) and hence the aux heater is always on. Think I will swap it out when I have a few spare hours! (£65 seems a fair price)
