Default 2004 Grand Voyager - Sliding Door Binding

I have a 2004 Grand Voyager (UK) on which the sliding door on the drivers side becomes difficult to open and close manually. The door seems to work ok using the power function but not manually. I have lubricated every possible linkage/runner and although this seems to improve the action it doesn't last for more than a few days before it starts binding again. (by binding I mean very heavy to open or close). The sliding door on the passenger side is fine, albeit it doesn't get used as much as the offside door. Any suggestions?

On the lower hinge, you will see a "Drive Cable" ( Black with white plastic ends) pinch the cable end and remove it from the "Motor side".....

If it improves...the clutch in the motor is sticking, and the motor will need to be replaced.

Sounds like that could be the cause, I'll check that as soon as I get the opportunity. If it is the motor then I may have to try a DIY fix as motors in the UK cost an arm and a leg.
Thanks for the information.
