Default 2005 town & country 3.3 engine

my throttle response is very slow driving the interstate. does not accelerate on partial throttle . only responds when throttle is pushed down far enough to downshift the transmission. and then downshifts normally and accelerates normally. no cel displayed ,no fault codes to read.

does occasionally display cel and egr fault code,404,i think. but the light does not stay on. engine starts & runs normally except for the slow response to the accelerator pedal.

anyone experienced this behavior? thanks for any and all reply's. larry

Sounds like EGR is not snapping into operation quick enough, like carbon fowling or sticking valve...But before you tear things apart check the Vacuum hoses to the EGR noting if their cut/cracked where they slip on or split.

comparing your car to a Jaguar XJ 2.7TDVi here. Codes read P010c airflow mass low. P010F Mass sensor A/B correlation. Now you have to think what would cause this. Now it also reads P404 EGR control range. And P2142 EGR Throttle control high. One added pain is this engine has 2 EGR's. It also flags up Restricted Performance. So compare these faults to yours. What do you think is suspect.
Just a bit interest to wind some brains up...
