hi all new member not a great first post just recent out in my 2008 crd 2.8 auto diesel at traffic lights went to accelerate on green light just got a loud bang! no drive car will select all gears as normal and speedo climbs as if im moving ect but no motion just a rattling noise when selecting N neutral no managment lights ect what the opinion? already had few problems over my year of ownership losing faith in this buy quickly!

 

The speedo is driven from the gearbox output drive sensors, so the fault is likely to be with either the transfer shaft or the differential.

I'm afraid to say that the cheapest option will probably be a gearbox out of a scrapyard, followed by rebuilding your old box.

Have a look-see if there has been a catastrophic failure of a drive shaft to the front wheels. Otherwise, you're looking at heavy money. Sorry.
